are you?: called out by a Hasher when checking for the trail

Beer Master: organises the beer after a Hash run

bucket: refers to the container of liquid refreshment available at the end of a Hash run

check: sudden ending of the trail

check back: upon finding a "check" this is the act of backtracking to refind the trail

checking!: what is for the benefit of the other runners when refinding the trail

circle: post-run session where down-downs and other presentations are made

co-Hare: the Hare's accomplice

down-down: a beer, often presented in a ceremonial glass, to be drunk all at once.
A down-down is usually given as a reward or penalty for some deed of the receiving Hasher.

False Trail: A trail that leads the runner in the wrong direction. For what happens next see "check".

Grand Master: THE leader of a Hash chapter

Grand Mattress: The female equivalent of the above

Grand Mistress: As above

Hare: the person that sets the trail, often with a co-Hare

Harrier: a type of hunting dog

Harriette: a female Hasher

Hash Cash: club treasurer
Hash Car: called when a car is coming up behind you

Hasheet: a club's newsletter

Hash Hush: a call for silence for an announcement
Hasher: A runner in the Hash House Harriers

Hashit: awarded to Hares for major blunders

Hash Flash: Hash photographer

Hash Haberdasher: a dispenser of Hash clothing items and fashion tips

Hash Horn: not used by all clubs, this is a horn (eg. bugle) that is blown to rally the pack. Short blasts for "checking", long blasts for "On-On!".

Hash House Horrors: A Hash chapter for the young 'uns.

Hashlete: although a contradiction in terms, this means Hash athlete

Hash Master: see Grand Master

Hash Music: leads the pack in song

Has he paid?: a question often directed by club members to Hash Cash in reference before a visiting Hasher gets a Down-Down.

Hash Piss: organises the beer

Hash Quack: Hash "Doctor"

Hash Sniff: "Sniffs" out the start of a run

HHH: Hash House Harrier

H3: see above

Hound: A hasher, Harrier, Harriette etc.

On-back: called by a runner to indicate that it's necessary to backtrack to find the trail
On down: a call to say the trail is continuing downhill
On home: marked on the trail and called about 1km from the finish

On-in: the last stretch of a run

On On: with many shades of meaning depending on context it can mean "Keep going", "Keep drinking" or just used when you have nothing better to say.; Most often refers to the act of social drinking after the Down-Downs.

On out: "See you Later", I'm going "on out" that door, goodbye!

On Sec: Honorary Secretary

On Sec's Ass: Honorary Secretary's assistant
On up: called when the trail continues uphill

Pack: a group of Hashers

Paper: Shredded paper was originally used for laying (marking out) a trail. Now commonly chalk symbols are used

Passing: It's considered too competitive for one runner to pass another and passing is usually rewarded with a Down Down

Piss: Sweet Amber Nectar (ie. beer)

Prick of the Week: The POTW has two definitions-; 1. The most heinous offender as exposed by the RA for sins committed on the Run or at the Down-Down
2. The phallic vessel from which the offender is made to drink as punishment for his crime.
